we cut the carpet into squares and then feed them into the machine which is somewhat like a shredder. The carpet fiber is then separated from the backing of the carpet and sent up a conveyor belt into a baler. The carpet fiber is then sent back to Dalton Georgia to be remelted into recycled carpet. This was a win-win project for both companies ECS and invista fibers.
