In 2004, Pack Expo made a strategic decision to act as their own general contractor for the show, subcontracting various functions to bring the event together. This involved renting essential equipment like forklifts, scooters, tractor trailers, and engaging a carpet company. Exhibitors Carpet played a pivotal role in this process. The Pack Expo Association, responsible for show marketing, secured special pricing for carpet services, resulting in 75% of the total carpet work across the three buildings at McCormick Place being handled by Exhibitors Carpet.

Not only did Exhibitors Carpet manage the aisle and registration carpets, but they also orchestrated a massive logistical operation, requiring 42 semi-trailers to transport the carpet to the venue. During the Isle carpet night, Exhibitors Carpet mobilized a team of 200 individuals to install the carpet across multiple levels in the McCormick East, South, and North buildings. The scale and precision of this operation truly underscored the dedication and efficiency of all involved in making Pack Expo a success.
